Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix displayed a knack in athletics from the beginning, and soon discovered her talent for sprinting when she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. She came second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks after her first attempt. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. Felix was presented with her first Olympic award at 2004's Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s which set an all-time junior world record. Felix was also the youngest winner of the 200 meters during the World Championships that took place in Helsinki in 2005. She defended her title once again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed within the top three in her various races in the Olympics that took place in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
